3. Analyse the challenge of regulating the media in the digital age?'
In today's era, there are a lot of challenges to regulation when it comes to media an example of this is Chinese censorship. Shows like friends S2 EP11 and "The one with the lesbian wedding", this episode was heavily censored in china due to the show having LGBTQ, so due to this, the show cuts some part that was inappropriate or dubbed them so it doesn't show any of the inappropriate content to the Chinese audience. Streaming sites like YouKu and Sohu videos have bought the right to distribute friends from 2012- 2018 on their websites and it shows the censored version of Friends. However, this censorship can be bypassed by the internet, as many people can find pirated streaming websites to download the uncensored version of friends or other streaming sites like (youtube) to make it easy to view content that is community-based.
Another example of the challenges of regulating the media is public backlash. one example of public backlash is at the time when kominfo (ministry of communication and information of Indonesia) blocked websites like steam and others websites due to them not registering to their PSE. This then started a massive Indonesian backlash where massive waves of Indonesians took to social media to complain and some of them would even try to hack the company's database. After the massive backlash, kominfo finally was forced to bring back and unbanned those websites. and in the end, their public image was tarnished

Donald Trump also known as the ex-president of America got banned on Twitter due to the former president spreading misinformation and inciting violence. a few hours from the account suspension, Trump bypass it by tweeting from the official presidential account, @POTUS. he immediately shared a series of tweets accusing the social media company of "banning free speech" and attacking section 230. According to Trump, that allows social media platforms like Twitter to get away with labeling or even suppressing his posts which spread lies about the 2020 US election. Due to banning his tweets Twitter made Trump famous as many of his supporters try to make movements online to restore the former president, these supporters then got banned for spreading misinformation.
